JAL Hotels Will Open Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro on April 1, 2007
March 28, 2007, Tokyo – JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Mamoru Tsutsumi) announced that, with JR Hokkaido Hotels Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Sapporo City; President: Kenji Takagi), the company will open Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro (Location: Obihiro City, Hokkaido; General Manager: Yuji Takayama) on April 1, 2007 as a re-branding of Hotel Northland Obihiro.
Directly connected to JR Obihiro Station, Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro is an urban-type hotel that has171 guest rooms, restaurants, banquet rooms, Shinto shrine, chapel and other facilities on its 11floors above ground and one basement-level floor. Major renovations have been undertaken for this re-branding: the interior design for guest rooms has been changed to a Scandinavian concept; tenth and eleventh floors have been upgraded to superior floors with improved amenities including duvet with top-quality feather bedding. In addition, a Chinese restaurant, “J China,” and a wedding facility, “Vert Claire” have been newly added to meet the demand for wedding and banquet functions as well as business and leisure functions around the Tokachi area in Hokkaido.
To celebrate its opening, the hotel will offer special promotions: a special accommodation plan, “Nature,” will offer up to a 57% discount with free breakfast for a limited number of rooms until June 30th; and at the Chinese restaurant “J China”, special extras, including a dessert plate, will be offered to lunch and dinner guests at no additional charge until May 31.

Other 2007 openings include the 373-room Hotel Nikko Tianjin, in Tianjin, China, on April 17th, and the 257-room Hotel JAL Fujairah Resort & Spa, a Nikko Hotels International property, in Fujairah, UAE, on May 15th. The 486-room Hotel JAL Tower Dubai, also a member of the Nikko Hotels group, in Dubai, UAE, and the 300-room JAL Bahrain Resort & Spa, a Nikko Hotels International property, are planned to be opened in 2008.
