JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. Held 24th General Managers' Meeting

TOKYO

July 11, 2007, Tokyo – JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo: President: Mamoru Tsutsumi) held its 24th General Managers Meeting at Hotel Nikko Tokyo (Location: Daiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo), from July 9th to 11th, 2007. JAL Hotels uses this annual conference as an occasion to communicate management policies from the company’s headquarters, to promote communication between headquarters and the hotel general managers, and to provide information and training to the general managers.

President Tsutsumi reported that the company’s ordinary profit in 2006 reached 1,485 million yen, and liabilities with interest drastically decreased from 16,500 million yen in 2005 to 4,400 million yen in 2006. Overall, the company’s financial situation has shown improvements, and its transition to a business model as a hotel operator was almost completed in 2006.

A total of 110 attendees gathered at Hotel Nikko Tokyo for this year’s conference, including 63 Nikko Hotels International (NHI) general managers from around the world, and Hotel JAL City (HJC) and corporate senior managers. Representing Japan Airlines, Mr. Atsuro Nishi, Executive Officer, Associated Business, attended as a guest.
At this conference, “2006 best performance awards” were also presented to hotels in different categories based on their overall performance: NHI in Japan; NHI overseas; and HJC. For NHI in Japan, Hotel Nikko Naha Grand Castle received the best performance award. Hotel Nikko Royal Lake Yangon was selected for NHI overseas, and Hotel JAL City Haneda Tokyo for HJC. In addition, four hotels, Hotel Royal Taipei, Hotel Nikko Hongkong, Hotel Nikko Naha Grand Castle, and Hotel Nikko Mexico, received “triple three performer award” for their continuously excellent performance in three consecutive years for 2004 - 2006. Both Nikko Naha and Nikko Mexico have received this award for the past three years since they have continuously maintained excellent performance for five years in a row since 2002.

Future openings include the 478-room Hotel JAL Tower Dubai, also a member of the Nikko Hotels group, in Dubai, UAE, in the fall of 2008, and the 300-room JAL Bahrain Resort & Spa, a Nikko Hotels International property, in 2009.
